M.A. Psychological Counseling, Pepperdine University
Center for Cognitive Therapy
Liz brings 30 years of private practice experience into the therapy room. Her theoretical orientation includes Cognitive-Behavioral, Communications Training, Developmental Transitions, and Family Systems. Her therapy style is welcoming, active and collaborative.
As an experienced clinician, Liz is dedicated not only to helping people get unstuck, but also to addressing the “what next” in troubled relationships at home or in the workplace and troubling personal issues such as perfectionism, anger and loss…wherever there is internal or relational stress and conflict. The goal is inner peace and outer harmony. Her part in the process is to support, educate and facilitate emotional and behavioral health in an atmosphere of trust and respect.
She delights in addressing spiritual issues and injuries with her clients who desire to integrate spiritual healing and growth into the therapeutic process. Liz believes that change occurs from the inside out and utilizes a Bible based approach as it involves spiritual issues.
Sometimes the need is to deal with a very specific problem. Sometimes the need is to get to the root of deep ongoing distress. After defining the problem to be solved she collaboratively designs a plan. To expedite healing and wholeness she helps her clients access a full range of feelings, discover core beliefs and redecide subsequent problematic habits. Her desire is to walk with her clients out of the shadows of discouragement and self-condemnation and into the light of hope with peace of mind and skills for living the abundant life.
